Welcome to MILE.  Mile Technology Inc. . (“MILE,” “we,” and “us”) is the owner and operator of the MILE website and mobile application, and your privacy is important to us.  We have developed this Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) to describe the information we collect, how that information may be used, with whom it may be shared, and your choices, in connection with your use of website(s), products, services, and applications, including the MILE mobile app, and all related features technologies and software, and any of our products and services that link to this Policy (collectively, our “Services”).   

 

By accessing the Services, you agree to be bound by this Policy.  If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, please do not use the Services.  Each time you use the Services, the current version of this Policy will apply. Accordingly, when you use the Services, you should check the date of this Policy (which appears at the top) and review any changes since you last reviewed it.  Your use of the Services is also subject to the MILE Terms of Service.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect two types of information from users of our Services: “personal information,” which is information that that can be used to identify you (such as your name or email address), and “aggregate information,” which is information that cannot be used to identify you (such as frequency of visits to our website and your browser type). We collect personal information and aggregate information in the contexts described below. 

 

Information You Provide to Us

 

Your Account Information: 

 

When you use our Services, you may provide certain information directly to us.  For example, when you register for an account with MILE, we collect the following mandatory information:  first and last name; email address; phone number; and gender. 

 

You can optionally provide additional information such as your brand preferences and information about other users that referred you to our Services. 

 

Through use of your account, we also collect information about your shopping preferences and information to compile a shopper profile of you. 

 

 

Your Communication with Us:

 

We collect information when you communicate with us. The specific types of information we collect will depend on the forum in which you communicate with us.  For example, if you send us an email, we will collect your email address and the content of your email.  

 

 

Purchases:

 

When you make purchases, we will also collect your billing address and shipping information.  

We use third-party payment processors to process credit and debit card transactions completed through the Services.  Your full credit/debit card information is never shared with us, and at no point in any transaction do we have access to that information. 

 

Information We Automatically Collect

 

As with most apps and websites, when you use our Services we automatically receive and collect information from your device.  This information includes the following:

 

  • Information about your device, such as the operating system, hardware, system version, the Internet Protocol (IP) address, device ID, and device language.

 

  • The specific actions that you take when you use our Services, including but not limited to the pages and screens that you view or visit, search terms that you enter, how you interact with our Services.

 

  • The time, frequency, connection type, and duration of your use of our Services.

 

  • Information about your wireless and mobile network connections, such as mobile phone number, service provider, and signal strength.

 

  • Information regarding your interaction with email messages, for example, whether you opened, clicked on, or forwarded the email message.

 

  • Identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser (as further described below); and

 

  • Pages you visited before or after navigating to our website.

 

  • Device and telephone connectivity information such as your carrier, network type, network operator, subscriber identity module ("SIM") operator, and SIM country

 

 

Cookies and Analytics

 

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser to help us identify you when you come to our website. You have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies you may be unable to use those aspects of our website that requires registration in order to participate. You can learn more about cookies and how they work at www.allaboutcookies.org. You can always disable cookies through your browser settings. Doing so, however, may disable certain features on our website. You can opt-out from third party cookies that are used for advertising purposes on the NAI website.

 

 

Interest-Based Advertising

 

We participate in interest-based and behavioral advertising. We use third-party advertising partners to display ads tailored to your individual interests based on how you browse and shop online, as well as to provide advertising-related services such as ad delivery, reporting, attribution, analytics, and market research.

 

We allow third-party companies to collect certain information when you visit our websites or use our mobile app. This information is used to serve ads for MILE products or services, or for the products or services of other companies when you visit our website or other websites. These companies use non-identifiable information (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over, hardware/software information, and session ID) and personally identifiable information (e.g., static IP address) during your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. These parties typically use a cookie, web beacon or other similar tracking technologies to collect this information. 

 

Other Analytics

 

We may use third parties, such as Google Analytics, Klaviyo, DataDog, BugSnag, InstaBug or other analytics providers, to analyze traffic to our website. Google Analytics does not create individual profiles for visitors and only collects aggregate data. They use cookies, web beacons, recorded interactions and other tracking mechanisms to collect this information.

 

To disable these analytics, please visit the website(s) of the respect analytics providers.  For example, to disable Google Analytics, please download the browser add-on for the deactivation of Google Analytics provided by Google at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. We may also use cookies, pixels, beacons, or other web tracking technologies to track the amount of time spent on our Services and whether or not certain content was viewed. We may work with a third party to collect and process this information for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with this Policy.

 

At the present time our Services do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals or similar mechanisms. 

 

 

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION 

In general, we collect information from you so that we can provide our Services, operate our business, manage user accounts, fulfill orders, and provide information that you request from us. This includes the following uses and purposes: 

 

  • Create and administer your account, including any subscriptions you enroll in, and your product purchases (if applicable).

 

  • Fulfill and manage orders and product purchases. 

 

  • Provide, operate, improve, maintain, and protect our Services.

 

  • Provide you with technical and other support.

 

  • Communicate with you.

 

  • Enable and facilitate acceptance and processing of payments.

 

  • Send you Services and company updates, marketing communication, service information, and other information about MILE and our Services, and products and services of third parties that we think you may be interested in.

 

  • Conduct research and analysis, and monitor and analyze trends and usage.

 

  • Enhance or improve user experience, our business, and our Services, including the safety and security thereof.  

 

  • Send you push notifications through our app.

 

  • Personalize our Services to you by, for example, customizing content that you see. 

 

  • Communicate with you and respond to inquiries.

 

  • Operate our business and perform any other function that we believe in good faith is necessary to protect the security or proper functioning of our Services.

 

  • As necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, subpoena, legal process, or governmental request.

 

  • Enforce contracts and applicable Terms of Service and Terms of Sale, including investigation of potential violations thereof.

 

  • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

 

  • Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of MILE, our users, customers, or the public as required or permitted by law.

     

    HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

     

    We do not sell your personal informationLike most companies, we share information in certain circumstances with third parties through operation of our Services and our business.  Below we explain when that happens. 

     

     

    Service Providers

    We use third parties to assist us with operating our business and providing our Services, such as our technology vendors that help us maintain our Services, partners that assist us with our marketing and communication, and shipping providers and logistics providers that assist us with fulfilling and shipping orders.  This also includes advertising networks and data analytics providers. These service providers will have access to your information in order to provide Services to us.

    If you make a purchase through the Services, our third-party payment processors have access to your information to process your transaction.   Additionally, in some instances, products that you purchase through the Services are shipped to you directly from the vendor or other third parties, therefore when that occurs, we share your shipping details and contact information with the vendor or other third party responsible for shipping.  

     

    If you utilize a “buy now, pay later” service offered through the Services, we may pass your personal information in the form of contact and order details to the “buy now, pay later” provider to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. You will be directed to your choice of payment processor and redirected back to our website to complete your order. Your personal information is processed in line with the applicable “buy now, pay later” provider’s privacy notice, depending on which payment method you choose.

     

     

    As Directed By You and With Your Consent

     

    Except as otherwise provided in this Policy, we share information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of MILE only at your direction or when we have your consent to do so.  

     

     

    Legal Proceedings

     

    We may share information with third party companies, organizations, governmental authorities, or individuals outside of MILE if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

     

    • Meet any applicable law, regulation, subpoena, legal process or governmental request;

     

    • Enforce a contract, including but not limited to any applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof;

     

    • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or

     

    • Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of MILE, our users, customers or the public as required or permitted by law.

     

     

    Sale or Merger

     

    We may share information about you as part of a merger or acquisition. If MILE or any of its affiliates is involved in a merger, asset sale, financing, liquidation or bankruptcy, or acquisition of all or some portion of our business to another company, we may share your information with that company before and after the transaction closes. In such a case, unless permitted or otherwise directed by applicable law, your information would remain subject to the terms of the applicable privacy policy in effect at the time of such transfer.

     

     

    Aggregate Information

     

    We may de-identify or aggregate information so that you are not identified as an individual, and use and provide that information to third parties without restriction. We may also provide aggregate usage information to third parties (or allow third parties to collect that information from you), who may use such information to understand how often and in what ways people use our Services. 

     

    CHOICES ABOUT YOUR INFORMATION

     

    We strive to provide you with choices with respect to your information.  Also, remember, you can opt not to disclose certain information to us - but keep in mind some information may be needed to create a MILE account, make purchases, or to use some of our Services and features.

     

     

    Modification and Access to Your Information

     

    You can access and modify most of your information through our app.  If you would like to modify or access additional information that is not available through the app, please contact us at support@mile.club.  We may ask you to verify your identify or provide additional information before we act on your request.  We may reject or deny requests for certain reasons, such as when we believe a request is fraudulent, or when we are required to retain information for legal or record-keeping reasons. 

     

     

    Deleting Your Information or Your Account

     

    You can delete most of your information through our app, and you can delete your account through our app.  You may also request deletion of your account by contacting us at support@mile.club. Please note that in some cases we may be prohibited from deleting certain information, and some information may remain in our records after your deletion of such information from your account.  For example, data relating to transactional purchases will be retained for a minimum of two (2) years (or whichever longer period is required by law). We may use any aggregated or de-identified data derived from or incorporating your information after you update or delete it, but not in a manner that would identify you personally.  

     

     

    Marketing 

     

    If you opt-in, or when you purchase our products, we may send you newsletters and other messages, including marketing emails, SMS text messages, and other communication about our products and services, and to alert you to relevant advertisements and other opportunities. You can always choose to stop receiving newsletters or other communications from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any MILE marketing message. To stop receiving SMS text marketing communications from us, you may text "STOP", "END", "CANCEL", "UNSUBSCRIBE", or "QUIT" to a text message from us. After texting STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE or QUIT to our shortcode you will receive one additional message confirming that your request has been processed. If you unsubscribe from one of our text message programs, you may continue to receive text messages from us through any other programs you have joined until you separately unsubscribe from those programs.

     

     

    INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER

     

    If you decide to use our Services, or share your information with us, you are agreeing to be governed by the laws of the United States, and agree to the transfer of your information to the United States.

     

     

    TRANSFERRED MARKETING DATA

     

    This section concerns individuals who are resident in the EEA, UK and Switzerland whose personal data has been collected by Box of Heat Limited (our parent company), and transferred to MILE, Inc. for marketing purposes.

     

    MILE Technology Inc. (“we”, “our”, and “us”) is the data controller of the following categories of your personal data, which MILE Technology Inc. obtained from Box of Heat Limited for the purposes of sending marketing communications to you: email addresses ("Marketing Data"). The legal basis on which we rely to send you marketing communications is our legitimate interest in communicating information about our commercial products and company initiatives. We share your Marketing Data with our marketing partners. Unless you unsubscribe from our marketing communications, or contact us (as below) to delete your Marketing Data, we will keep your Marketing Data for as long as your account is active.

     

    You have the following rights in relation to your Marketing Data:

     

    Right of access: You have a right of access to any personal data we hold about you. You can ask us for a copy of your personal data; confirmation as to whether your personal data is being used by us; details about how and why it is being used; and details of the safeguards which are in place if we transfer your information outside of the United Kingdom or the EEA.


    Right to update your information: You have a right to request an update to any of your personal data which is out of date or incorrect.
     

    Right to delete, restrict, or object to the use of your information: You have the right to request that we restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances. Your rights may be subject to various limitations under applicable privacy laws.

     

    Right to stop marketing: You have a right to ask us to stop using your personal data for direct marketing purposes. If you exercise this right, we will stop using your personal information for this purpose. You can withdraw your consent or manage your preferences at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our marketing emails, by emailing us at privacy@mile.club.


    Right to data portability: You have a right to ask us to provide your personal data to a third party provider of services. This right only applies where we use your personal data on the basis of your consent or performance of a contract; and where our use of your information is carried out by automated means.


    Right to object: You have a right to ask us to consider any valid objections which you have to our use of your personal data where we process your personal data on the basis of our or another person's legitimate interest.

     

    If you wish to exercise any of these rights, you can do so by contacting us at privacy@mile.club. However, note that certain Marketing Data may be exempt from such requests in certain circumstances; for example, we will not delete information that we are required to retain in order to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

     

     

    CHILDREN

     

    Our Services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you are under 18, please do not attempt to use our Services or send any information about yourself to us.  If you are the parent of a child under the age of 18, and you believe he or she has shared information with us, please contact us at privacy@mile.club so that we can remove such information from our systems.  

     

    SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

     

    We use reasonable security measures, including measures designed to protect against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage to your information.  We also take certain measures to enhance the security of our Services, however, since the Internet is not a 100% secure environment, we cannot guarantee, ensure, or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. There is no guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your login information. 

     

    THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES

     

    Our Services may contain links to other websites and Services operated by third parties, and may include social media features such as social media buttons or links. These third-party websites and services may collect information about you if you click on a link or visit those websites or services, and the social media sites may automatically record information about your browsing behavior every time you visit a website that has a social media button. Your interactions with these features and third parties are governed by the privacy policy of the third party, not by this Policy.  

     

    CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

     

    We may make changes to this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page. We encourage you to read this page each time that you use our Services so that you will be aware of any changes, and your continued use of our Services shall constitute your acceptance of any such changes. Changes to this Policy take effect from the date of publication, unless stated otherwise.
